For the removal of obstacles in our spiritual practice and growth

Anandi Ma and Dileepji will be doing a six-day anushthan (intense spiritual practices) devoted to our spiritual evolution. As they focus on photos of us and chant the potent verses of the Sankata Mochan Hanuman Ashtak on our behalf, they raise divine energies to dissipate the obstacles that we might be facing in our spiritual practices.

This act of grace serves as a catalyst for our inner transformation. It is a unique opportunity to receive help for those things that get in the way of doing our spiritual practices, and distractions that occur while doing practices, so that we can practice with greater clarity and focus, more joy and frequency.

The Sankata Mochan Hanuman Ashtak

As a child, Lord Hanuman's mischievous nature led him to reach for the sun, mistaking it for a luscious fruit. This act of playfulness plunged the world into darkness and provoked a sage's curse, causing Hanuman to forget his formidable powers unless reminded by others. Devotees chant the Hanuman Ashtak to remind him of his powers and awaken his strength to assist with difficulties.

The chant recounts for Hanuman his great victories and then beseeches him for help. After each verse, the refrain reminds Hanuman that the whole world knows his power to remove darkness and obstacles.

🎶 Ko Nahīn Jānata Hai Jaga Men Kapi, Sankata Mocana Nāma Tihāro

Who in this world does not know that your name is Sankat Mochan Hanuman the remover of obstacles, who removes darkness by his light.
