The time has come when the intensity of one’s spiritual practices needs to become more intense. With this in both heart and mind, we are bringing a new structure to retreats. More meditation is the master key. These retreats are Jagruti The Aware Awakening.

Don't miss opportunities when they come. The group anushthan will raise you to higher and deeper levels, and the fire ceremony will enhance both spiritual growth and material support. So please do join us in Nikora for these special events. We don’t want to miss you. See you then.

—Ma and Bapuji

Powerful practices, special meditations, shared presence.

Set along the sacred Narmada, in a place where devotion is lived daily and the presence of Ma and Guruji is felt throughout, this retreat moves through four powerful streams of experience working together to support inner transformation.

Practice unfolds in the group anushthan, as Ram Mantra japa and increased daily meditations lift us up and support our spiritual progress.

The Divine Mother yagna burns, where the Shri Suktam is chanted and sacred offerings are made into the flame, radiating Lakshmi’s golden light that nourishes both spirit and life.

Shiva is honored on His great night, through traditional ritual and chanting that celebrate the Dispeller of Darkness.

The body is renewed through panchakarma, where classical Ayurvedic treatments, herbal support, and simple nourishment help restore the free flow of prana through the nadis.

Each of these is meaningful on its own, but together, in the presence of Ma at the ashram, they begin to untie the knots on the way to the goal, in the way only grace can.

What to expect

Group Anushthan

Full | Jan 21–Feb 9
First-half | Jan 21–30
Last-half | Jan 31–Feb 9

Ma has designed this group anushthan to include important rest days before and after (including your arrival day), for a total of 20 days. We will practice together for 17 days. The anushthan will include Ram Mantra japa and more daily meditation sessions than in previous years.

If you cannot come for the full anushthan there is also an option to choose a ten-day segment either the first or last half each consisting of seven days of anushthan and three rest days (including your arrival day).

Divine Mother Fire Ceremony

A six-day event including the rest (integration) days, the fire ceremony includes a Mahalakshmi Yagna burning for four days, where we will offer special practices described below. Priests will be in attendance, one priest for every two participants.

A fundraiser for the ashram

This special fire ceremony is priced as a fundraiser to support needed repairs and improvements to the ashram. As such, the fire ceremony is only open to paid participants. There is no unpaid audience option or other program going on at the same time. (Ma has indicated no viewing from the periphery).

February 9 | Rest & fire ceremony purification
Participants will go through the traditional ten-ingredient purification process known as Dashvidha Snan, to prepare for the days ahead.

February 10–13 | Four-day Mahalakshmi Yagna

YAGNA DAY ONE: Sthapana Ahuti and Chintamani Ganapati Ahuti

The fire ceremony begins with a day of invocation and foundational rituals:

  • Participants will perform special nyas practices of Lakshmi to prepare the physical and subtle body to receive, absorb, and retain her energy.
  • Pujas will be offered to Chintamani Ganesh, whose grace supports the ability to retain Lakshmi’s presence, and to Mahalakshmi herself.
  • Mahalakshmi’s energies will be invoked in the yantra.
  • Mahalakshmi will then be invoked in the fire, which will remain lit and alive for the full four days.
  • Offerings will be made to the fire using the Chintamani Ganesh mantra.

YAGNA DAYS TWO THROUGH FOUR: Shri Sukta Ahuti and Mahalakshmi Mantra Ahuti

Each participant will offer 80 recitations of the Shri Suktam and 10,000 Mahalakshmi mantras into the fire over the course of these three days. One priest will be present for every two participants.

February 14 | Rest and integration day (important!)
This year, Ma has intentionally built in rest days around each segment of this intense retreat. These are important for our spiritual benefit after doing the practices.

Maha Shivaratri

February 15–16

Maha Shivaratri, the great night of Shiva, celebrated with all-night chanting and puja with abhishek, followed by deep meditation. A powerful night in India followed by a day to rest and integrate.

Panchakarma

February 17–March 5 | Two-Week Program plus required rest days

Panchakarma is a significant part of this retreat, and Ma and Bapuji emphasize its value for those who can take part. Bapuji has shared that, especially as we age, the key to health lies in the movement of prana and its unobstructed flow through the nadis. Ayurveda supports this directly, nourishing the body, clearing blockages, and enhancing the circulation of prana. Participation is limited to 16 people, so early registration is recommended for those interested.

Guided by a skilled Ayurvedic doctor and his trained staff, this classical panchakarma program offers deep purification and renewal in the Ayurvedic tradition. The program requires two weeks plus rest before and after.

Each participant receives:
An initial doctor consultation and daily monitoring
Body composition analysis and pulse diagnosis
A personalized program of therapeutic treatments, herbal support, and dietary guidance
Daily fitness, restorative activities, and holistic wellness sessions

Treatments are tailored to your constitution (Prakriti) and current imbalances. These may include therapies such as abhyanga (oil massage), nasya (nasal therapy), basti (oil enema), virechana (gentle purgation), shirodhara (oil stream therapy), and other core Panchakarma practices, all prescribed based on your individual needs.

To learn more about the specific treatments that may be included, click here.

Frequency and combination of therapies are determined by the doctor based on your unique constitution and condition. Cost does not include any long-term Ayurvedic medicines prescribed.

Notes about Prices and Travel

Each event includes rest days

Ma has included rest days as part of each segment of this retreat. These are important so that we are rested and prepared for the energies of each event and can integrate afterwards. The rest days are included in the price and Ma highly recommends not flying on these days.

Room & Board price increase

Due to inflation and changes in the Nikora economy affecting the ashram, the room and board rates are higher than the last trip two years ago. Room and board is included in the price of each segment of this retreat. Here is the price breakdown:

  • Nightly rates: $27/night property owners, $47/night non-owners
  • Full Group anushthan is $351 + nightly rate
  • Divine Mother Yagna fundraiser is a $1600 ashram donation + nightly rate (optional payment plan)
  • Maha Shivaratri is $27 + nightly rate
  • Panchakarma is $1800 per person for two weeks + nightly rate. Limited to 16 people.
  • Admin fee: $29

Yagna fundraiser

The Divine Mother fire ceremony is a special event priced as a fundraiser specifically for the ashram to make needed repairs and improvements. Ma has explained that for this fire ceremony, only participants may attend. For non-participants, there is no entry to the fire ceremony and no other event going on during the fire ceremony, but you are welcome to stay at the ashram between the fire ceremony and Maha Shivaratri to do personal practices (nightly rates apply).

If you are unable to pay the full $1600 donation up front, you may register by selecting the Fire Ceremony Downpayment option. The downpayment confirms your place. After registering, please contact Jayshree right away to arrange a monthly payment plan (up to six months) for the remaining balance.

We are grateful for your support of Ma's ashram and want to make participation accessible while honoring the fundraising purpose of this event.

Registration deadline is firm

If you are going to India, it is very important to register and submit needed documents no later than December 1, 2025. So much advance planning goes into this retreat, so this deadline is very firm.

Ground Transportation

Ground transportation selections and payment must be submitted by December 15 or we cannot guarantee your transportation from the airport to the ashram. Use the link in your confirmation email to complete this crucial part of registration.

How to use the trip planner

The optional trip planner below is a tool to help you plan your flight dates. Use the checkboxes to select which events you want to attend and it will display suggested arrival and departure dates for the combination of events you have selected.

The flight dates are based on arriving the day before your first event begins and departing the day after your last event ends.

Please note that the trip planner does not take into account any days you add if you are arriving early or staying late.

Staying extra nights

When registering, you will be asked whether you want to add any nights before, after or between those events. If you plan to arrive early or stay later than your event dates, add those extra nights to your registration, to cover room and board. You may also add extra days between events (e.g. you are doing the Group Anushthan and Maha Shivaratri but not the Divine Mother Fire Ceremony).

Custom Saris

January 19–20

Arrive early for custom Indian clothing

Anyone wanting to buy saris or fancy outfits that need tailoring, please arrive by January 19 so you can select the clothes and meet with tailor. Clothing selections and tailors will be at the ashram, but this must be done before the group anushthan begins, so please plan your arrival accordingly.

Festive attire on last day of yagna

For the fire ceremonies, regular Indian or western attire can be worn for each day but on the final day, please wear festive Indian attire.
