People are often frightened of Kali, but she is actually very sweet, a benevolent mother.

—Dileepji

Kali, the compassionate liberator

On this special night of Kali Chaudas (the second night of Diwali), we gather to connect with the fierce yet compassionate presence of Kali, as the Divine Mother who embodies both destruction and liberation. Often misunderstood as a symbol of fear and chaos, Kali is, in fact, the ultimate liberator, cutting through illusion and ego to reveal the truth of our inner being.

Her loving compassion is unconditional and her ferocity is not to harm, but to protect and free us from attachment, suffering and ignorance. As we chant to Kali, we invite her blessings of fearlessness and freedom.
